Utilizing the sound created by thumping a watermelon in conjunction with its size, Dr. Thump Lite offers users a predictive measure of the fruit's sweetness or bitterness prior to purchase. This innovative approach significantly reduces the uncertainty typically associated with selecting watermelons.

Upon using the app, users are presented with a brix scale, which quantifies the sugar content in fruit juices. The scale operates as follows: lower values indicate increased bitterness, while higher scores signify greater sweetness. A typical watermelon measures around 7 on this scale, with values of 8 and above being ideal for those seeking a sweeter taste. Watermelons scoring below 7 are best left behind, as they often result in a bitter flavor.

The app's functionality allows for watermelons to be tested both within bins or individually.
